Ruth Inman

My art has been described as abstract, whimsical, intuitive, colorful and bold. I would love to paint a bit larger but currently I am limited by space. Meanwhile I find joy in creating with many different mediums, and teaching the same to others. I like adding a bit of texture to my pieces, since life is not 'smooth sailing', there are always bumps in the road.

When asked what inspires me, I find my self answering “Color”. I feel God gave us colors to use, and living in a white world, not using them, seems not only boring but unappreciative to the one who created color. When I use several colors, I feel happy. I think it makes God happy too.

I am fortunate to have some of my art displayed for sale at the Artful Journey Gallery in Peoria, Illinois. and I will have an exhibit for the month of July 2025 at the First United Methodist Church in the Foster Gallery. The show will be a duo show with my artist-friend Sharon Somers and we have titled it, “Lead me Lord”.
